Through this guide, we have tried to highlight the activities of the department and the administrative structure, and we clarified the subjects that the student studies until he obtains a bachelor's degree, explaining the foundations of accepting students in the department, evaluation, measurement, exams and the controls governing them, and this guide also includes the date of the opening of the department and the number of students in this department over the past years. Description
The Department of Libraries was opened in 2009. 2010, where this department worked from the date of its opening to achieve the goals entrusted to it, and graduated a large number of students who had a major role in many institutions.
Vision
The Department of Libraries should be a distinguished department in the field of education and development of the capabilities of university students and faculty members to use libraries and traditional, electronic and digital information sources.
Mission
Qualifying capable scientific capabilities capable of meeting the needs of society in the field of libraries and information and opening new horizons for the development of the profession and upgrading it to the ranks of developed countries.
Goals
The general objectives of the department are to provide students at the bachelor's level with the basic information necessary for library and information center specialists.
The objectives and policy of the educational department are determined as follows:
- Preparing specialists in library and information sciences equipped with skills that enable them to manage and develop community institutions and facilities and improve information services by modern technological methods and means.
- Serving scientific research in the field of libraries and information and opening new horizons for the development of the profession and upgrading it to the ranks of developed countries.
- Contribute to the development and service of the Libyan Arab community through training, continuous education and awareness of the importance of the field of libraries and information and their study.
- Calling for teaching the subject (library and scientific research) for all departments at the university.
- Benefiting from graduation projects for the development of libraries and information centers.
- Serving university and school libraries and information centers.
